Rug on Hold
September 18, 2009 at 6:40 pm · Filed under area rugs, decorating tips ·Tagged area rug, caulk, rug pads, rugs
Cut CAULK the rug! If you are like me, you detest those awful netting things sold as rug pads. Mine are always peeking out from the edges and never seem to do the job.
Today’s organizing tip from domestic goddess Martha Stewart recommends this solution:
“To give a sisal or sea-grass area rug some traction, flip it over, and apply lines of acrylic-latex caulk every 6 inches or so. Once dry, you can safely put down your rug; the rubbery strips will hold it in place.”
I can’t wait to try this – I’ll let you know if it works. And please let me know if you try it and what you think…
